일리노이 침례교 협의회가 주최한 ‘2026 침례교 연합 전도 부흥성회’

이번 성회에는 매 집회마다 150여 명의 성도들이 예배당을 채우며 뜨거운 열기 속에 진행됐다. 강사로는 국제 복음전도 단체 DCMi(David Chung Ministries International) 대표 정태회 목사가 초빙되어 사흘간 영적 각성과 결단을 촉구하는 메시지를 선포했다. 특히 정 목사는 굴곡진 개인적 삶의 고난과 회복 과정을 진솔한 간증으로 풀어내며 이민자들의 지친 마음에 깊은 위로를 건넸다. 아울러 어떤 결핍과 절망 속에서도 변함없이 동행하시고 인도하시는 하나님의 은혜를 전하며, 삶의 현장에서 복음의 사명을 감당하도록 도전을 주었다.

마지막 날인 4일 저녁에는 안병학 목사의 인도와 연합성가대의 찬양이 이어졌으며, 정 목사는 ‘선교, 생활에서 사명으로’(마태복음 28:1720)를 전하며 사흘간의 부흥성회를 마무리했다.

이번 성회는 일리노이 지역 교회들의 헌신적인 동참과 기도로 준비됐다. 개막 전부터 매주 화요일 오전에 부흥회를 위한 기도 모임이 지속적으로 이어졌으며, 모임과 행사 순서를 분담한 교회들도 각자의 자리에서 한마음으로 부흥성회를 섬겼다.

특히 목회자들과 각 교회 성도들이 함께 한목소리로 구성한 연합성가대는 성회 마지막 날 ‘너는 내 것이라’ 찬양을 통해 은혜로운 연합으로 감동을 한층 더했다. 아울러 미네소타 유라시아교회와 위스콘신 지역 교회 성도들도 원거리에서 동참해 지역을 넘어선 연합의 장을 넓혔으며, 예배 순서와 찬양은 샴버그침례교회, 푸른교회, 두란노침례교회 등이 나누어 맡아 아름다운 동역을 이뤄냈다.

헌금 전액 교회 개척·미자립 교회 지원

성회 기간 동안 모인 헌금 전액은 지역 복음화를 위한 사역에 투입된다. 일리노이 침례교 협의회는 이번 집회에서 거둔 헌금 전액을 지역 내 신규 교회 개척과 미자립 교회 후원 기금으로 전액 사용할 계획이라고 밝혔다.

협의회 측은 성회를 마친 후 “성회를 은혜 가운데 마칠 수 있도록 인도하신 하나님과 귀한 말씀을 전해주신 정태회 목사, 장소를 협조해 준 샴버그침례교회 및 헌신해 준 모든 지역 교회와 성도들에게 감사드린다”며 “앞으로도 교회 간 연합을 바탕으로 전도와 선교, 목회자 지원 사역을 지속해 나갈 것”이라고 전했다.

‘2026 Baptist Joint Evangelistic Revival Conference’ Hosted by the Illinois Baptist Association

With approximately 150 congregants filling the sanctuary at every service, the conference was held amidst fervent enthusiasm. Pastor Taehoe (David) Chung, representative of DCMi (David Chung Ministries International)—an international evangelistic organization—was invited as the guest speaker, delivering messages over the three days that called for spiritual awakening and commitment. In particular, Pastor Chung shared a candid testimony detailing the hardships and recovery throughout his own turbulent life, offering deep comfort to the weary hearts of immigrants. Furthermore, he proclaimed the unchanging grace of God, who walks with us and guides us through any deficiency or despair, challenging attendees to fulfill their gospel mission in their daily lives.

On the evening of October 4th, the final day of the event, Pastor Byeonghak An led the service alongside praise from the joint choir. Pastor Chung concluded the three-day revival conference with a sermon titled "Mission: From Everyday Life to Calling" (Matthew 28:17–20).

This revival conference was prepared through the dedicated participation and prayers of local churches in Illinois. Prior to the opening, weekly Tuesday morning prayer meetings were held continuously, and churches assigned to service roles served the revival with one heart in their respective positions.

In particular, a joint choir—composed of pastors and congregants from various churches—sang "You Are Mine" on the final day of the conference, deepening the impression with a beautiful display of unity. Additionally, church members from Minnesota Eurasia Church and the Wisconsin area traveled long distances to participate, expanding the scope of unity beyond state lines. The order of service and worship music were shared among Schaumburg Baptist Church, Green Church, and Tyrannus Baptist Church, achieving a harmony of partnership.

All Offerings Dedicated to Church Planting and Financial Assistance for Struggling Churches

All offerings collected during the revival will be directed toward local evangelism ministries. The Illinois Baptist Association announced its plan to use the entire amount collected during the services as a fund for opening new churches and supporting financially struggling churches within the region.

Following the conclusion of the event, the Association expressed its gratitude, stating: "We give thanks to God for guiding us to complete this conference under His grace, to Pastor Taehoe Chung for sharing such precious messages, to Schaumburg Baptist Church for hosting the event, and to all local churches and congregants for their dedication. Moving forward, we will continue our work in evangelism, missions, and pastoral support based on this unity among churches."
